It has been a while since I blogged last – this has been for 2 reason – 1 to see who would notice and secondly I found other things to do. I want to say thanks to those who have read this year’s blogs – I will continue them next year.
Today’s topic is one that is near and dear to my heart. And that is the topic of Jesus. Ok so you might say that since I am a pastor that that is a predictable answer however I am constantly amazed by this one man. Today he wows me as to how he understood sin and its fullest capacity on us as humans and yet still was ok with taking all of the SINS of the world upon him. How painfully awful brutal that must have been. I have said what I am about to say to students many times but if we wronged our friends as often as we wrong Jesus we would never have friends. It is amazing that his love is constant even when we are doing our own thing or blatantly doing the opposite of what God wants us to do. Take for example if we molded a clay pot and all we wanted the pot to do was to hold water. So after spending time molding the pot making it firing it in a kiln decorating it and making it look wonderful it came time to put water in it and you realized as to no fault of your own that the pot didn’t like water. In fact every chance it got it would tip itself over and get ride of the water, it would spit water out it would dodge the water ever chance it got. As pot makers we would be upset and dumbfounded as to why this pot won’t do what it was created to do. This is how I feel God sees us many times. We reject our creators intentions for which we were created for. So that being said I say to God – Sorry for what we do and don’t do – and thank you for your love as you love us even when we don’t want to be loved or even love ourselves.
