We just got back from a great event at Nationwide Youth Roundup. Most often when events are in such a great venue then usually the programming lacks excellence. However at NYR this was not the case. The event was run with great excellence – and was also a great time. We had several worship sessions in the valley of a the mountains and to be in God’s cathedral like that was simply amazing. On top of that it was an even t that at many times I wished our entire church could be at. The challenges in which the speakers put upon the students was applicable to any Christian not just youth and these were well educated men in the trenches of ministry. Some of the most interesting things I heard were: America’s racial dynamic will change in the next 20 years from Latino being the most prevalent then African American, and then Caucasian. As these dynamics change I look and see how this applies to the Marion church. We are looking to move into an area that is prevalent with Latino people and African American. I am excited to reach these people for Christ and for very little I know about Latino people I think they have something to teach us Caucasian Christians. Many of the other highlights were exploring God’s creation – certainly amazing what He did in a week!!! Well that is all for now but indeed a wonderful trip and we will make plans to head back in the future.
