Well another great week of camp!!!! I guess I shouldn’t be surprised but I find it amazing how God shows up every time at camp. He continues to rock the students lives and mine as well. I love how soft the students hearts are that are up there. Many of the students are very open and ready to the guidance and leading of God while at camp. Some cool things that went on at camp were 4 baptisms. Also they really enforced this year the no cell phone rule. I thought it would be met with much grumbling and arguing when they asked for cell phone but many students handed them over willingly and I also hear a lot of comments from students almost wishing they didn’t have to get them back because they didn’t want to be married to them again. All in all a great week clean fun, memories all under a Godly umbrella – it is a little piece of heaven on earth. I hope God continues to honor that place and dwell there. Til next week

Praise the LORD

This is the first week of summer for many students in our youth group this week. I have taken a few fishing in the early a.m. this week and it has been fun. Summer is a great time to be in youth ministry. I am going to try and hang out with all of the students this summer at some point. I also hope to reach out to a few of the fringe students that we have seen just a few times this summer and build some steam for new blood this fall. Also in one week we head to the great Pine Haven Christian Assembly (PHCA).  That has got to be a one of the greatest places with some of the best people. It is truly been a historical place for changing and molding students lives.

On a different note – the cat is finally out of the bag – and we have nominated Rick Walston to be our next Senior Pastor. I personally couldn’t be happier. We are getting a humble man who is truly over qualified for our church. He is high caliber – but it won’t be official until the congregation votes at the end of the month.  I won’t type at you next week due to camp but I will give a camp report the following week.
